Run for Fun

I got back to running today. It had been a while since I’d gone for any kind of run, even though I used to run regularly and have completed two marathons a couple of years ago.

For the past few weeks -- maybe even months -- I had been trying to get back into it, but I kept finding all kinds of excuses not to run: the weather, being tired, being busy, and so on. But then there comes that one day when something just clicks. And suddenly, you do it with ease, joy, and lightness.

Everything has its own timing. Listening to your body, rather than rushing or pushing yourself, is part of that timing as well. When you're ready, you're ready. And the same applies to everything in life, not just the simple run I had today.

The reward that comes with it is enormous. It includes joy, excitement, and a sense of divine connection. My run felt like a meditative state, and even though I hadn’t run in months, I wasn’t tired, drained, or exhausted at all. Four miles passed in what felt like the snap of a finger.

One of the things I love about running is that once you enter that meditative state, the run seems to happen by itself. And then all kinds of insights and downloads begin to arrive. That happened this time as well. It truly feels as though the Divine is connecting with you and speaking to you.

I usually set an intention, even for a short run, and today’s intention was to clear away the mind clutter created by social media -- the endless stream of content we are constantly fed, which is not real nourishment for our souls, minds, or bodies.

So I asked for the clearing of any programs, blockages, confusion, and unclear energies. So be it.

What came through exceeded my intention. The insights and clarity I received went far beyond what I had asked for.

Follow your own knowing and trust the timing of whatever comes to you, whether it seems big or small. When an action is aligned with the moment and the energy, things become easier, lighter, and more enjoyable. And often, you receive far more than you expected.

Side effects of my run: a good mood, a happy body, smiles, a healthy glow, smooth skin, joy, and divine insights.
