Follow the Energy

Sounds simple, and yet it is not so simple. I find myself caught in situations where I realize afterward that I didn’t follow the energy. It can be something as banal as online shopping, where I realize after receiving my order that they don’t offer refunds and that all the items are too large and I lost money, or it can be something bigger, like being in certain places, meeting certain people, or doing things that the energy didn’t feel right.

Whatever you do, make sure you know what it means for you to follow the energy. For me, for example, it feels light or lighter, smooth, easy. It always feels like the things I want to do are easy, they happen naturally, without any force, they just flow, and there is no extra effort, no confusion or energy or action needed on my end. So I know that this feels right for me in the given moment, and I follow the energy.

However, when the energy doesn’t flow and is not light, for example, when something requires too much thinking: Should I stay or should I go? or when there is too much analyzing, browsing, deciding, back and forth, or too much effort required to get or achieve something, it means the energy is not flowing uninterrupted, and it shows me that this direction doesn’t feel light or right.

It might be just a matter of timing, so you can leave it and come back to it later if you still feel called. Or maybe it will be gone forever, or at least for a longer period of time.

I know you may say that you don’t know how to feel lighter. It’s like training a muscle to recognize and read your body’s signals. There are also some useful practices you can use until you begin to feel it naturally and have that awareness within you, so you no longer need any tools.

One example is muscle response testing, a manual, non-invasive technique used to receive information from your body. The way I understand it, you connect with your core, your truth, and receive information that is true only for you. First, it’s good to define how your body communicates “yes” and “no” to you, and then ask so-called closed questions to receive your answers.

I’m sure you can find many resources on how to learn and use this tool, so I won’t expand on this topic here. I just wanted to mention that it can be a great way to begin learning how to listen to your energy and your body. Once you develop this ability, you can receive energetic messages almost instantly.

The thing is to listen to them, because sometimes we are so invested in the outcomes created by our minds, or in decisions we have already made, that we somehow ignore and stop listening to the flow of energy and the lightness of our truth. We want something so much to happen for us that we overlook what feels lighter. Or we don’t want certain things to happen because the lighter path may not feel comfortable.

Yes, lighter does not always mean comfortable. Sometimes, following the lighter energy will ask you to do things differently.

And there is one more thing: not following the lighter energy may lead to heavier or denser energies, meaning more difficult outcomes and situations later on.

Following the lightness of energy may save you energy and may literally save you from uncomfortable events, situations, and experiences. Everyone is on their own path, so tune in and see what resonates with you.

I strongly believe that following my energy of lightness connects me with the Divine, the Universe, the omnipotent Source energy. That is why I keep choosing to follow the lightness, the lighter path, the Light (see “The Light”), even though it is not always an easy choice or an easy path.

Of course, I sometimes still end up on bumpy roads and experience heavier rides, but that is life, isn’t it?
